Sarah Bloom BSc (Hons) MChiro
ChiropractorChiropractor
Sarah knew she wanted to become a chiropractor at a fairly early age. Having suffered a serous injury during a hockey match, she had exhausted all other avenues of help and so was lead to try a chiropractor. Miraculously, after just 6 weeks of treatment she was back playing, and a new passion was born. Fast forward a few years (and a fair few hockey matches, with at least 2-3 wins) she now has a degree in sports science, along with being a doctor of chiropractic.
Sarah is interested in and passionate about all things chiropractic, but specialises in hypermobility (naughty people who bend too much). She particularly likes working with children and, you’ve guessed it, sports persons. She has a passion for healing and constantly welcomes chronic pain patients and new challenges, especially, like in her experience, when all else has failed.
Sarah is also a big dog lover, being a foster mum to Brac, George, Walt and Obi. Sarah has a lifelong love of sports. She especially loves running and has also recently added swimming and rock climbing to her hobbies. She loves the outdoors, especially a good hike, having completed 7 of the Scottish Munro’s (8 if you count getting lost and reaching the peak twice)… Only 275 to go!
Kate Wilson MChiro
Chiropractor
Kate first experienced Chiropractic when she was a teenager. Her mum had been receiving regular Chiropractic care and thought it could help with a foot and knee injury Kate had from sports training. After feeling the benefits of her treatment not only on her injuries, but on her body as a whole, Kate decided she wanted to be able to help people with this same holistic approach.
Kate loves an adventure and exploring new places. She can usually be found swimming in the sea (at all times of year) and walking up mountains or along the beach and also loves to go indoor climbing. Her adventures usually include finding the best local food spots for a nice piece of cake, coffee or a good snack.
Amelia Rosin MChiro
ChiropractorChiropractor
Amelia is a dedicated chiropractor with a deep passion for helping others. Her journey into chiropractic care was shaped by her own childhood health challenges, fostering a strong empathy for those seeking both relief and to be heard. A graduate of the Welsh Institute of Chiropractic, Amelia believes in a personalized approach to health, understanding that each body is unique and capable of remarkable healing. Amelia’s love for the outdoors, particularly mountain hiking, reflects her commitment to maintaining perspective and well-being. In addition to her chiropractic expertise, she has specialized training in acupuncture and dry needling, offering evidence-based treatments that promote the body’s natural self-healing abilities. Amelia is committed to providing comprehensive care and connecting patients with the right resources if their needs extend beyond her expertise.
John Taylor
Massage TherapistMassage Therapist
John loves everything sport and outdoors, even his arch enemy, snowboarding, which he has yet to stay on the board for longer than 3.5 seconds at any given time. He first became interested in massage and chiropractic after doing kangaroo impressions at Chester zoo which left him mortally wounded…. with sciatica. After taking all the normal routes to remedy the pain; pain killers, sleeping on the floor, prayers etc, it was soft tissue work along with some serious change to posture that got him back on his feet. Since that experience, John left behind the world of being a superstar DJ, account management and occasional plumbing and trained at the London School of Sport Massage to attain the highest qualification available in the soft tissues therapy world.
Nowadays John is happy (and pain free) working alongside the chiropractors to help speed up the recovery of all our lovely clients. Outside of that he can usually be found in one of three places, the gym, up a mountain or asleep somewhere…. Or picking himself up off the snow.
Carol Barrow BA (Hons) MAR
ReflexologistReflexologist
Carol has been an enthusiastic supporter of chiropractic for several years since experiencing back problems and getting great results from regular treatments. Her journey to working at the clinic has been long and winding – including over 20 years working in Human Resources (apparently, it’s not much fun being the most hated person in an organisation!)
Several significant life events opened her eyes to the inextricable link between the body and the mind. She started looking into Complementary and Holistic Therapies and became fascinated by reflexology. While still working full time she trained in reflexology at an Affiliate School for The Association of Reflexologists gaining a Level 3 Diploma in Reflexology and subsequently decided to pursue her love of reflexology full time.
Having moved around a lot over the years, Carol has now settled in Anglesey, and spends her free time exploring the island (especially the restaurants) and desperately trying to learn Welsh.
Carol is a massive advocate for reflexology and the benefits it can bring and works alongside the chiros and John to support clients on their journey to improved physical and emotional wellbeing.
Mike Phillips
AcupuncturistAcupuncturist
Mike discovered Chinese Traditional Acupuncture after receiving remarkably effective treatments himself and becoming fascinated by its effects, mechanisms and nature-orientated philosophy of Traditional Chinese Medicine. These treatments and the ensuing study literally changed his life by presenting an ancient perspective on life, health and human beings that resonated with him strongly.
Mike completed his bachelor’s degree in Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine at the Northern College of Acupuncture in York; three years of eye-opening theory and accompanying supervised clinical practice.
In his free time, Mike enjoys being out in nature, exercising, reading, meditation and relaxing.
Rachel Evans
Clinic ManagerClinic Manager
Rachel is the longest serving member of our family. Back in 2013 she finally realised that Gringotts was not real or an achievable life goal and made the decision to leave the world of banking… and she literally never looked back. She instantly loved the clinic’s friendly and welcoming atmosphere as well as meeting and chatting to all of the wonderful patients face to face. In fact, Rachel now loves what she does so much, she often says ” it doesn’t feel like ‘work’ “… weirdly, she never seems to mention this on a Monday morning?!
Rachel is kept busy outside of work by her two little future clinic employees, Isla and Ava, who are often seen helping out here already! She also enjoys being out in the open air, walking with her partner Luke, her girls and Cockapoo Jurgen, travelling, reading and cooking. Rachel is a self-proclaimed ‘foodie’ and can often be found trying out a new recipe in the clinic’s kitchen!
Alison Newby
Chiropractic AssistantChiropractic Assistant
Alison has been coming to the practice for a few years with her daughter, while they were receiving treatment for study related back and neck pain. She loved the welcoming atmosphere so much she decided to join us. She enjoys spending time in her garden, walking her two dogs and travelling.
Lynette Averell
Chiropractic AssistantChiropractic Assistant
Lynette’s history is in retail and office work, liking the different aspects of both, but after her sister praising the treatment of one of our chiropractors and then a vacancy arising for a chiropractic assistant, she decided to apply and now loves the friendly atmosphere of the clinic.
Lynette loves her holidays and city breaks. She also enjoys going out to restaurants, family time, cooking and walks in the fresh air.
Judith Stead
Chiropractic Assistant
Judith spent the first 18 years of her life on the sunny Fylde Coast in Lancashire. She then spent 3 years at Durham University enjoying studying, dancing, pint pulling on the College Bar and miraculously left with a degree in History. She worked in retail for a few years then found her dream job as a Sales Representative for various book publishers including Penguin. She loved reading lots of books, driving around most of the bookshops of England and Wales and chatting with staff and customers. Unfortunately all of this left Judith with a very sore neck shoulders and back, but when she moved to Chester to work in the Wine Department at Waitrose she started visiting the Clinic and so became part of the reception team! She has really benefitted from visiting the Sports Massage Therapist and Reflexologist as well as the Chiropractors. She enjoys swimming, gardening, walking, reading and travelling in this country and abroad.
Simon Hudson MA
ProprietorClinic Director
Simon graduated from Aberdeen University with an English degree, so you can blame all the spelling mistakes on the Scottish educational system! Having worked for a product design company in Bristol, he moved to Chester back in 2004 to set up our clinic, which is a pain, because he’s been surrounded ever since by chiropractors who nag him constantly about his bad posture! These days, Simon has another business restoring miniature steam models that occupies a lot of his time, but he still helps with important decisions and oversees the upkeep of our beautiful building, when he can tear himself away from the trains!
