What is Reflexology?

Reflexology is a gentle and non-invasive complementary therapy involving the massage and application of pressure on the feet. Its origins can be traced back to several ancient cultures. It’s based on the theory that different points on the feet correspond with different areas of the body and it’s believed that working these points or areas aids relaxation and helps the body to balance itself.

General benefits include:
  • deep relaxation
  • release of tension
  • better quality sleep
  • mood improvement
  • overall sense of improved physical and emotional wellbeing.

As holistic practitioners, reflexologists are there to support the whole person and promote wellbeing – they do not diagnose, prescribe or cure.

What happens when I book a treatment?

Before your first treatment we will be in touch to arrange a brief telephone health consultation which should only take 15-20 minutes. This is to ensure the treatment is tailored to your specific needs and to ensure there are no contraindications. It also gives you an opportunity to ask any questions you may have.

When you arrive for your session, you will only need to remove your shoes and socks. Please wear something comfortable and loose fitting around the leg area to allow access to your feet and lower leg.

Will I benefit from reflexology?

Everyone is unique. The only way to know if reflexology will help you is to try it!
